Golden Circle | Bali

The Video

This video was shot in Bali with the Panasonic GH5. I have been working with this camera for many years, and it shads been a workhorse. This camera for a long time was the best hybrid of photo and video camera to me. While it had all the capabilities of shooting good photos, the video functionalities stood out. It always felt like it was built for video shooters in mind. Shooting on a retreat like in this video can be quite challenging as I never want to disturb the ambiance and the sacred space people enter. Participants are there to go on a personal journey and I don’t want to take away from that experience by being too intrusive. Having a camera that is easy to handle is important. Shooting with an inbuilt stabilizer and slow-motion gives me the ability to play with speeds in post-production and still have good shots when the subject is in focus only for a few frames or when movement is fast, and it’s hard to get the perfect angle or shot. Projects like this allow me to meet two of my passions. Filming events and editing atmospheric imagery to music and being in a space where personal growth and exploration is possible. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed filming it.
